Swiss Post is implementing a fully automated system with front-end technology, eliminating manual track-and-trace activities combined with directional real-time data, from Lyngsoe Systems. Handling more than 2,33 billion letters a year, Swiss Post states it has an ambition to always strive for the most innovative and reliable solutions. The solution allows for complete asset inventory and flow control. It comprises both automatic real time track & trace and direction information about mail containers. Also, with containers uniquely identified, the system can logically link the container to another load bearer e.g. it can nest the mail trays to the containers via the existing destination label on the tray. Load control is another delivery critical function that automatically ensures that the right roll containers are loaded onto the right truck. Load control is a system feature that may be implemented in the Swiss Materials Management System in the future.
