Morpho (Safran), through its subsidiary Morpho Detection, announced that six leading global air carriers have deployed more than 200 Itemiser DX desktop explosives trace detectors (ETD) at U.S. and international facilities this year to meet new regulatory mandates for enhanced cargo screening. Under U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations effective January 1, 2014, all ‘grandfathered’ solutions on TSA’s Air Cargo Screening Technology List (ACSTL) will expire. As a result, airlines and freight forwarders shipping cargo routed through the U.S. must deploy a qualified solution listed on ACSTL to screen for explosives. A global leader in explosives detection solutions for air cargo, Morpho states it has ACSTL-listed trace detection, X-ray, and Computed Tomography (CT)-based solutions.
