Clear2Pay’s test suite receives Visa confirmation

International technology provider of next generation payment solutions for financial institutions, Clear2Pay, has announced that its personalization validation solution has been confirmed by Visa to comply with their latest Global Personalization Requirements (GPR). The tool enables issuers and personalization bureaus to perform their card and mobile testing in automated mode, detect issues rapidly and facilitate the mandatory Visa certification process. Clear2Pay states its Visa GPR Test Suite validates the personalization of contact- and contactless cards, as well as mobile payment applications. The tool helps to ensure compliance with Visa’s Global Personalization Requirements. These define a set of validation criteria for use by chip card issuers. The solution includes terminal simulators to mimic the behavior of payment acceptance devices. This allows users to simulate different types of payment acceptance devices, such as contact/contactless, online/offline, POS, ATM and vending machines. The tool also enables card issuers to verify how personalized cards or mobile devices behave during transactions – domestic or international, low/high amount, cash, purchase, and so on.

NXP and Ageto demonstrate new wireless solution for ID

A new NFC–based solution for national ID cards, allowing German citizens to benefit from the advantages of the country’s new personal identity cards, is being unveiled by NXP Semiconductors and Ageto. Using NXP’s SmartMX technology, which is embedded in the cards and the AGETO eID client, citizens would be able to use their cards wirelessly with NFC-capable mobile devices to prove their own identity and gain quick access to services that government authorities offer. The technology also allows parents to register their children at day-care centers using an NFC-enabled smartphone. This means the parent reads in the details stored on an ID card using a mobile device, registers online with the local authorities, waits for confirmation sent directly to the smartphone and then shows this message displayed to the day-care staff. As well as saving time, the process is much safer in terms of preventing identity theft and attempted fraud and, for the communal day-care centers, helps ensure that parents have not registered for more than one place, according to the companies.
