False documents are a key enabler of identity fraud, allowing organised criminals to escape monitoring mechanisms and maintain the profits from their activity. The UK’s Metropolitan Police Service’s Project Genesius works to prevent and reduce this activity and has been key in introducing the Specialist Printing Equipment and Materials (Offences) Act 2015
